Ed Espinoza comes to the MCG from the Democratic National Committee, where he served as the Western States Political Director for the 2010 campaign cycle. Among other duties, he helped the Harry Reid for Senate and Michael Bennet for Senate campaigns with Latino mobilization programs and worked with state organizations including the California Democratic Party and the Texas Democratic Party. Immediately prior to joining the DNC, he served as Nevada State Director for America Votes in 2008, and as the Nevada Caucus Director to the Bill Richardson for President campaign in 2007. In 2008 he was a Superdelegate for President Obama.
Originally from Long Beach, he got his start in politics working on Jane Harman's successful run for Congress in 1992, then continuing in 1996 as a youth organizer for the Clinton/Gore re-elect, and later as a Deputy to the Democratic Leader of the California State Senate. Since 2004, he has served as a campaign staffer for candidates and organizations in 15 states, including AZ, CO, HI, NV, NM, OR and TX.
Ed conducted his undergraduate studies at UCLA and has a certificate in management from the London School of Economics. He has written for Politico and has been a guest contributor to CNN.
