Sandra Lyon
Sandra Lyon first joined MCG in 2008 as an Account Executive for such clients as the National Education Association, Ohio Education Association and Bev Perdue’s campaign for North Carolina governor. Before rejoining the firm in December 2009, she served as Director of Scheduling for Creigh Deeds’ gubernatorial campaign in Virginia.
Prior to MCG, Sandra worked for the Florida Democratic Party as Director of the Chair’s Office under former Congresswoman Karen Thurman. In addition to managing the Chair’s office, she was responsible for running the state’s 2008 national delegate selection process. She first began in Florida as the Party’s Research Director during the 2006 gubernatorial election.
In 2005, Sandra served as Communications Director for Research Management Strategies in New Jersey. During the 2004 presidential election, she worked as Deputy Communications Director with America Coming Together in Arizona and Oregon. She has also worked for the Women's Senate Network at the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.
Sandra began her career in electoral politics as Communications Coordinator at the Democratic National Committee under Chairman Terry McAuliffe, managing the DNC Surrogate Outreach Program and broadcast appearances by the Chairman and Democratic surrogates.
Sandra received a B.A. in Political Science & Mass Communications from Arizona State University. She is originally from New York.
