Katherine Carter

Katherine Carter serves as a Vice President at the Mack l Crounse Group.

In 2008, Katherine worked as the lead Account Executive for the DCCC-Independent Expenditure Program, defeating incumbent Chris Shays in Connecticut, winning Republican-held open seats in Arizona and New Mexico and helping to re-elect Democratic members in Arizona, Georgia and New Hampshire. She continued her work with long-standing clients Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (MD-05), John Hall (NY-19), Tim Walz (MN-01) and Jim Matheson (UT-02). Katherine also assisted with President Barack Obama's Campaign for Change, creating persuasion mail in Virginia and Florida. Obama won both states, becoming the first Democrat to carry Virginia since 1964

Prior to joining MCG, Katherine served as a Senior Analyst at the polling firm Bennett, Petts & Normington, where she specialized in the kind of red-to-blue districts that helped the Democratic Party regain control of Congress.

In 2006, Katherine helped elect three new members of Congress: Nick Lampson (TX-22), Harry Mitchell (AZ-05) and Joe Courtney (CT-02).  As part of the DSCC expenditure, she helped elect Senator Claire McCaskill in one of the most-watched Senate races in the country. Through her work, Katherine has also helped ensure Congressman Chet Edwards's (TX-11) and Jim Matheson's (UT-02) re-elections since 2002. In addition to playing a key role in these victories, Katherine has provided strategic polling and message development to statewide and down ballot races in Texas, Connecticut, Delaware, Virginia and Pennsylvania.

Katherine, a native of Texas, holds a BA in Government and Sociology from the University of Texas at Austin.
