MCG Helps Deliver Upset for Deeds in Hard-Fought, Three-Way Primary

Deeds Surges to Stunning Win in Va.

Mack | Crounse Group is proud to have been a part of two major victories in the 2009 Virginia Democratic primary.

MCG's Kevin Mack served as a lead strategist and mail consultant for the Creigh Deeds for Governor Campaign, helping to propel the candidate from third to first in an upset victory on June 9th.

The Washington Post noted Deeds' victory “in every region of the state, including vote-rich Northern Virginia.”

Given little chance to win early on, Deeds bested the crowded field by running a smart, disciplined and resource-efficient campaign that capitalized on every opportunity while staying on message.

“Deeds refused to engage in the attacks or the back and forth between his rivals, choosing instead to watch quietly from the sidelines,” said The Post.  But “Deeds surged when he needed to, airing statewide television ads in the final weeks of the race and capitalizing on an endorsement from this newspaper that quickly became a theme of his campaign in the Washington suburbs.”

Congratulations go to the entire Deeds team for developing and implementing a winning game plan: Joe Abbey, Campaign Manager; Luke McFarland, Finance Director; David Dixon, Media Consultant; David Petts and Jill Normington, Pollsters; and, the entire campaign staff.

MCG's Alan Moore also provided strategy and mail for Jody Wagner, helping her win a decisive victory in the Democratic Primary for Lieutenant Governor. Congratulations to the Wagner team for their commanding victory.
